Nicked a gas line. (How thick are they?)
On our 2019 Momentum 349, I was finally getting to a beach ball size hunk of spray foam that they used to seal the hole where the rear gray tank drain line came out of the coroplast. It was a solid mass and was so large it engulfed the axle. I had cut some away on our first trip but a large chunk remained and today was the day to get at it. Guess what else ran through it that I did not see. When I cut some foam away, I nicked a plastic(rubber?) LP line. I cut it to the white braided fabric layer. I will be replacing it but does anyone know how thick they are?

Being at the white braid you should be about the middle. These lines are around 1/8" thick. You have definitely compromised the hose and are right on with the replacement.
I would have loved to have seen a photo of the large foam ball that you had to cut away, would have been a great conversation on why in the world would they do that.

Yeah, I wish I had one. I just did some exploratory surgery and that line goes up and out of sight. Oven has to come out. Ever take one out?

I have not taken one out, sounds like you may get to drop the coroplast and go on an adventure. Take some pics as I am sure this may help somebody in the future. I also do not know why they do not use iron pipe like they use to. It would make for shorter hoses for the end connections.

Yep, tomorrow it's into the belly of the beast. I'll try my best to document in some logical manner. Right now I'm working on my cussing. Getting dirty looks from you-know-who.

Not sure if there is a thread here on the proper language required for RV maintenance and repair , would be a fun thread but probably not allowed.
I am sure you will figure it out just keep the voice low so you know who does not yell at you.

Nicked a Gas Line
Got lucky. As I lay awake at 2am, I suddenly realized it was the water heater line I cut, not the oven. The fix was relatively easy.
I suspect most experienced RVers are way ahead of this curve but if not, and for whatever reason this happens to you, it's not too bad. Removing the silicone from around the line in the heater compartment where it goes through the cabinet was the hardest part. Disconnect the line at both ends, the lower connection is down on the frame under the kitchen slide where it transitions to iron gas pipe. Securely tape the new one to the old one, pull it through and reattach. Don't forget to leak check. The old one was 7 feet. My local RV shop had an 8 footer that worked fine.
Original line after silicone removal. The grommet has been removed also.
New one with extra protection added.
Out of the coroplast bottom
Lower connection
The reason. Cross section of old hose.
Sorry, I can't get the first two to flip upright.Russ & Faith

Russ
Glad this worked out fairly easily. I merged these 2 threads together.
