    Flat Springs on a 2019 377

Here are a couple snap shots for the masses of some flat springs.cid:

Background on our RIG: New to us 2019 377 we purchased it around 3 months ago, I hit the scales on the way home making sure I was completely empty, trailer axle weight 11,160lbs. I believe the previous owners purchased this rig new in June of 2018 and used it while they were building their home.

We plan on living in the rig full time and after loading the RV out with everything we think we need I have hit the scales again and came at 12,100lbs.

After contacting GD they are sending me replacement springs for the rig, I'll keep y'all posted.

P.S. I know that's not the actual total weight of my rig I'm simply using the "weight on trailer axle" as an example of how close these rigs are from the dealer to maxing out their spring ratings.

@Willb0856 - Those springs might not be as "flat" as you think they are. See the attachment to this post https://www.mygrandrv.com/fo...ng-Arch-Height for an easy method to measure exact "loaded arch height for a leaf spring. It would be interesting to measure before and after the spring change to know how much of a difference has actually been made with the new springs.

That's nice your are getting new springs. I've experienced flat springs. More than once. Those in the picture are not flat.

Except for all of the flatness in them. Hell, they are forming a "W" around the axle, id say they are pretty flat.

Ditto, our 2020 375 is at the dealer now waiting for Dexter springs. One difference from yours is the springs are totally flat to almost inverted.

Sorry to dredge this one back up, but my 351M (2019) looks pretty similar to the picture above. Is this "normal" or are these springs shot and need to be replaced? If the 2nd, is there a better spring pack we can use to replace?

Our 2019 351M looked just like those too. In the process of checking things out a couple months ago, I also discovered we had a broken spring shackle. So that necessitated doing something, and I figured I would go ahead and replace the springs at the same time that I fixed the shackle. I ended up replacing the 3,500 lb. springs with 4,000 lb. springs, and replaced the Lippert Equa-Flex with the Dexter EZ-Flex w/ wet bolt kit. I was thinking of the Roadrunner slipper springs and shocks, but that was just too much money, and quite a bit more work. I also thought of replacing the 7,000 lb. axles with the 8,000 lb., but again, just a whole lot more money than I wanted to spend. The 351M had 8,000 lb. axles and springs as an option, so the stress on the frame shouldn't be an issue. As for the axles, I figured I'd see how it went.

After a few thousand miles on the rebuilt suspension, I can consider it money well spent. The trailer no longer jerks when hitting bridge transitions like it did with the Lippert equalizers. And the overall ride is improved considerably. All in all, I'm a happy camper.

    Thanks Happy!

Do you have a link to the springs that you bought/used? I already changed my suspension to SRE4000 (and I have Comfort Ride shocks), so I think I just need to upgrade my springs and I'll be set. Until I break something else, of course.
