Twice in 3-1/2 years... and one of those required replacing the entire cooling unit. Dual (AC/propane) RV refrigerators are not famous for their reliability.

We get past the small fridge issue with a good ice chest. If you are only restocking the fridge a couple times a week from the ice chest the ice lasts quite a long time. The beverage cooler on the other hand needs to be replenished often, both product and ice.

Last year on our old trailer we stayed out for 3 weeks on an 8cf RV frig. Now it was packed to the gills starting out but it survived. Full timing you probably shop every couple of weeks and has been mentioned much produce does not need to be in the frig.

The topic of putting a residential refrigerator in a 337rls has me a little puzzled. At the Michigan rv show I asked the Grand Design factory rep why a residential refrigerator wasn’t offered in a 337rls. He said the slides are not as tall as a Solitude which has the residential option. Thus a residential refrigerator won’t fit. Has anyone found a residential model that we’ll fill the 12cf spot in a 337rls? Just wondering. Jim

I can't find where I wrote it down, but I measured the fridge space when ours was out for the cooling unit replacement. I then found (guided by someone who had done the conversion in a motorhome) a Samsung two-door unit that would fit. (sorry - that model number is on the same piece of paper.) It would require some custom molding, etc., but would work. I think GD gives that answer because the residential units they use are larger and won't fit.

Rob. Thank You for your answer. I just had our third Dometic 12cf installed last fall. New entire refrigerator every time under warranty. Camper is stored at the moment so will be turning the refrigerator on soon hoping we finely have a good one. They say third time is a charm. Lol Bought our 2018 337rls new August 2017 other then the refrigerator we’re happy. I’ve read a lot of your posts, your a great person to have on this forum. Jim

Thank you! That looks divine!! The small fridge that we saw yesterday in the GD 337RL did not look like it could hold a frozen pizza in the freezer. And the crisper bins were so tiny!

Oh! I just remembered that someone who full-times in an Open Range had changed out their 8 cu' fridge to this. It's 10.7 cu' and is laid out much better than the RV fridge. Deeper! https://www.homedepot.com/p/Whirlpoo...B&gclsrc=aw.ds
