Our's was broken on our 27RL even before we left the dealers lot. I found it during the PDI. Another Lippert garbage product.

I repaired ours with a stainless steel hinge and bolts at the outer end . . . and left it that way.
A "new" plastic piece (warranty replacement or otherwise) is just going to break again.

I posted a picture last year of my repair with a piece of rubber and stainless screws for a hinge as well. Permanent repair in my book. Still working great.

I think Rob has is correct, it will break again, to me it is not worth the headache of having to replace it every time, fix it permanently with parts that will not break and not worry about it.

Can you repost your picture please. Our strap has come loose once already, caught under the tire while driving and gotten ripped loose. It was fixed on warranty of course but I notice that the strap has broken again. As others mentioned, just having it replaced again isn't the answer.

I used a piece of a truck mudflap, trimmed the broken end of the broken strap to make a clean end, and fastened it to the original location with stainless screws and flat washers to prevent them from pulling through. Easy, permanent fix.

Thanks. Mine has broken for a second time about 6 inches from the end. I may have to use another section of mud flap to patch the break as well as hinge it like you did. Great idea. Thanks.

I probably cut 3" off of mine. If you use a thick piece of rubber it will likey be just fine. I keep watching all the others as well. So far, that one was the problem strap. We use our rig a lot. It has been fixed like that since about October.

We went on one trip and found our slide strap broken, the dealer is ordering another one. I hope they find a better replacement, this is definitely a poor design. Also the dealer told us they couldn't find the strap on Grand Designs online parts, that seems funny all of them are breaking

Here we go again. Why don't they get a better design. It would not be that hard to make one with a hinge. Everyone knows that if you bend something over and over it will break. Don
