I'll test the rivets on some scrap luan wood to see how well the rivets work before proceeding.
I’ve used 3Ms HD strength 90 before it works on scuffed up metal too.

Has anyone else engineered a solution to this? I'm a really handy guy, love to tinker, but the door doesn't appear to be setup to take a lock mechanism even if I wanted to install one. I could definitely install a hook and eyelet style lock, but the door is hollow and we all know how screws in RV walls won't last over time with something like this. Suggestions?
At one point I was looking into modifying a patio door (hook style) lock to the door. Two important things to consider is the strength of the door which you mentioned, where one end might need to be opened up to install reinforcements. The other is the lock must be able to be unlocked from outside since kids may lock themselves inside. The wife and I have used the honor system now for three seasons where the lock install has moved to a lesser priority, but with kids, the priority would be higher.

For the bathroom door which overlaps, a surface mount patio style lock would work with reinforcement.
Search on: Prime-Line external patio door locks

For the Bedroom a mortised internal style patio door lock would work since this door (If like my Imagine) closes flush to the jamb.

I wish I had a wood stud to work with, it would definitely make things easier. I'll hopefully get the hardware installed next week sometime. I'll post an update on how it turns out.

Thanks for the ideas, I hadn't even thought of those style locks.

Do you travel with the door in the closed position? we have 2 of these doors in our 26rls, and the little plastic straps to keep them in the pocket are near worthless. Broke on first trip from dealer.

I did consider this one, the clearance from the overlying trim piece looks like it could be an issue on my rig. But I will measure to make sure. Thanks for the suggestion.
