Need a generator for our new 320X. Is propane the way to go?

I have no idea what I'm doing

Welcome to the forum! I use a portable generator (Honda) that is fueled by gasoline. I'm not sure of the pros/cons of gas vs. propane. I'm sure somebody here will have experience with both.

We purchased a portable dual fuel unit. It runs on propane or gasoline. That way we just tie it into our 30g propane tank. One less fuel type to carry. Be sure to get one powerfull enough to run an air conditioner. We got a 4,400 watt. A little heavy but does the job with no problem.

Welcome Blue Hog and congrats on the new Solitude. You made a great choice on a beautiful rig. Can't go wrong with a Honda generator. It was nice meeting you both yesterday at Cowboy Stadium.

I don't have a generator, but people on other forums who do say to NOT go with propane unless you have very large bottles. Reason, if using extensively (as in boondocking) you will run through a 30# bottle in a day during times when you use your furnace also. They go on to state that during summertime with A/C the same size same bottle will last only a couple of days and then you have to refill it. That is just what I have heard and my 2cents. If I were buying a generator, I would most likely go with gas model.
