    Sound bar mount for lifting TV

    The TV in our camper lifts from behind the fireplace. Once fully lifted it is barely clear of the wood cabinet. When retracted that is maybe1/2 inch of space that I could raise the TV. I thought of mounting the Vizio soundbar I bought either under or over the TV but it does not seem like there is enough room. I'd love to mount if above the TV, on the shelf above the front window in the 380FL, would require a few holes in the wood though.

    Looking for possible solutions, pics helpful.

    Sounds like yours is tighter than ours. I raised the TV on its mount enough that it touches the underside of the overhead cabinets when raised (I had to move the lift switch to the side) and leaving enough space beneath it that about 80% of the Visio sound bar mounted there appears above the cabinet top. When the TV is lowered into its home it doesn't QUITE go down far enough, the cabinet flap that lowers over it as it hides now sticks up a bit, less than 1/2 inch.

    Our fireplace cabinet has a "secret" compartment, above the fireplace behind a decorative panel that flips down, that could easily hold the sound bar. I discovered this AFTER I'd done all the fiddling with mounting the VISIO under the TV and if I'd discovered it before I'd probably have done it that way.

    Hope something herein is useful. Good luck.

    I checked for the 'secret' compartment. Dont have it. I'd like to mount this in the open, so we can stream music without having to bring the TV up.

    Search on my id. I raised my TV and put a sound bar under the TV. I relocated the lifting switch too so I could raise the TV as high as possible.

    Things to watch for:
    1) if you raise the TV too high the wood panel that covers the TV opening when closed may not close all the way;
    2) I still have to make sure my (universal) remote is high enough when I use it to control the channel selection on the TV and sound on the soundbar;
    3) I put sound baffle in the opening in front of the TV/Soundbar in the TV well, it is simply a thin piece of board painted black (so it is not noticeable) long enough to be tacked at each end to the underside of the opening, this keeps sound for echoing in the TV well with the use of the soundbar.

    I hope this helps.

    Finally had time to try and install the Visio Sound bar above my lift TV in our 380FL. GD didnt include any power or cable chases between the shelf and the TV below so had to make\find my own.
    Basic tools are all thats needed. Helps to have flashlights, wire to fish in the holes, desk grommets and hole saws. I bought a 25 foot optical cable and a 6 foot house hold extension cord due to the distance I needed to cover. Heres the finished product with the bar installed.

    Remove the Jensen radio. The small drawer and the speaker cover and speaker. The grill is held on by 4 finish nails, pops off easily.

    Drilled a 1 3/4 hole in the wall between the shelf and the space behind the speaker.
    Insert grommet.

    Fish the optical cable and power cord through the grommet into the space behind the speaker. Then slide it down into the area behind the Jensen radio. From here I dangled each cable to catch it in the hole left by the outlet. Pull out the slack, leave it on the counter.
    Now drill a hole in the back wall behind the drawer. I used a 1 1/4 spade bit. Run the optical cable and power from the outlet hole down towards the hole. I used a metal hanger to snag the cable and gently pull it out of the hole. Click image for larger version.

    With both cables in the lower cabinet, use the same spade bit to create a hole into the TV space. I suggest lifting the TV first.
    Pull cables in, plug into power and to TV. I routed the optical cable along the lift system braces with loose zip ties, plugged into the TV. I left all excess cables loosely hung from the wood frame of the drawer. Have plenty of slack if needed.

    I need 2 1 1/4 trim rings to clean up the holes. And I'm going to seal up the hole behind the drawer with some tape.
    Otherwise, success!

    Thank you for sharing your install with descriptions and pictures. I am attempting nearly the same mod on my 2022 Solitude 382WB which is nearly identical to your setup. This will really help me a lot. Thank you!

    That's exactly what I did as well. (also removed the "secret cabinet" door).

    One hole drilled through back cover to feed power and HDMI cables.

    Clean and simple!
