    Torque for 303rls hitch

My 2018 303 has a tow hitch I use for my bike rack. It has 2 bolts on either side of the hanger. I can’t find any info on torque settings for these bolts. Emailed GD and they said to contact Lippert which I will unless someone here has that info.

You can also go by size and grade of bolt, to look up the correct torque.

How would I know the grade of the bolt? I guess measure the diameter for size?

Bolt grade should be marked on the head of the bolt.

Here is a web page that tells you how to identify bolt grade.
    https://www.boltdepot.com/fastener-i...ade-chart.aspx

Here is another web page that tells you torque values by grade and size.
    https://www.boltdepot.com/fastener-i...ed-Torque.aspx

    Hope this helps.

One last question regarding torque specs. I have the stock pinbox and last year before maiden voyage had a friend come over and help me torque that pinbox. Is this something that has to be done annually (checking pinbox torque).

I carry two electric bikes on the back of my 303. I took the receiver off and welded the angle iron pieces that it bolts to, to the frame better with a bead on both side. There were only some poor, short welds holding it on. Then I replaced the standard bolts with Grade 8 and tightened them to Very Tight, hows that for a technical torque spec?
