Removing bedroom carpet
Anyone remove the bedroom carpet in a Solitude? Wondering what had to be done around the bed as the carpet goes under the slide also what the condition of the floor was in? Was it full of staple holes?
Thanks

We replaced our carpet throughout our 376 last spring. While I can’t speak to what’s under the slide, I can assure you there are about a million staples. We started pulling them out and then just decided to pound them down. The wood floor was in great shape just an overload of staples! Good luck!!

I figured there would be an overload of staples. I assume it was the same vinyl floor as in the living area under the carpet? Did you just cut around the bed and leave the carpet under the slide part?
Thanks for the input

Hi Don,
We changed out the carpet in our Reflection. We have the centreline bed, so not directly applicable to your Solitude with the bed slide, but the attached pictures may give you some insight into your project.
The vinyl only goes a little way under the carpet and is discolored where the carpet had been on top of it, so you will be restricted to using basically the same carpet layout if you keep the existing vinyl. There are LOTS of staples. I pulled as many as I could and hammered in the rest.
I removed the bed frame but left the side cabinets in place (they are just too tied into the walls). The original carpet goes under everything including the walls!, so it has to be cut along the wall edges.

I replaced the carpeting in my previous trailer, an Open Range with sheet vinyl. it had the bed in the slide. I removed the bed and frame box to do it. It was held in to the slide my about 6 screws. I didn't take the carpet off the slide or out of the closet. I used wood trim to transition to rest of floor and 1/4 round pre-finished trim around the edges.
