As a result of my electrical project I have freed up space on the tongue. I wanted to utilize it, but the object had to be something light (weight is always an issue!) that can handle a reasonable exposure to the elements. What I found is the battery rails are a perfect place to store my Trailer Aid (TA).

As you may (or may not) know, the TA will not allow the removal of a 16" wheel/tire combo without a piece of wood underneath to give it just a little extra lift. (See this thread for more info.) The TA and wood was always getting moved to another spot and was always getting in the way, so this location is perfect.

What I did was cut the wood just the right size to fit on the rails and then secured everything using the type of strap that held the battery case to the rails. I also painted the TA black as I didn't want it highly visible (it's bright yellow from the OEM).

No more fumbling around with the TA in the pass-thru or bed of the truck.
