2015 Rally

Any thoughts on when the 2015 Rally will be and/or where it will be? I know that this one just happened but I guess there is nothing like being proactive and ready for next year . I will have mine by then and would like to attend.

Ginnie and discussed it, and wouldn't mind hosting next year if there is enough interest in a rally in the Western U.S. There was some talk about holding a rally at the Albuquerque Balloon Fest in October '15, but the only concern I have is that you'd have to be booking in the next couple of months. I saw that many of the attendees at this year's rally booked in the last couple of weeks.

Yes Jim that would be a little bit of a problem IMO. that would be an awesome place to have a rally though.

We too are interested in the next rally. I know other places sound great but having it in Elkhart allows for the technicians to go back to the warehouse to get any parts they may not have with them. This last rally allowed them to fix many things that otherwise would not have been fixed if the rally were elsewhere. I would suggest a group campout in Spring and then the rally in September in Elkhart.

Dave did an awesome job organizing this year's rally and I don't know how he got everything done all by himself from long distance. He did mention that Janice at Grand Design was a big help. Dave even made a selfless at of committing a significant amount of his own money to get the rally of the ground that was refunded to him through 50/50 raffles. Moving forward, I expect the rally attendance will only grow and that will necessitate a dedicated group of volunteers needed to spread out the work getting it organized. Also, Dave's effort, has demonstrated that an attendance fee will need to be charged so the organizers are not out of pocket.

A BIG THANKS to the organizers of the 50/50 raffle - I believe here name was Marcy. I'm sorry but I am terrible at names which is why will all wore name tags

I'm willing to help Dave organize next year's rally or take over if he wants a break.

Hey all...still taking a breather. We're currently in Ely, MN then heading to the Upper Peninsula of MI for the month of October. I haven't really had a chance to talk to any GD people at length, though we had discussed the rally as an annual event in Elkhart where they can fully support it as they did this year. I'll be reviewing it with them in detail once we return home and yes, I'm interested in organizing it again next year. We don't have any wifi close by so it's been very difficult to keep current with the forum.

I'll be checking in when we have a connection.

For those of us who are still working the sooner a date is chosen the better so we can get the time off. One day I hope to be able to accommodate any date chosen! That day can't come quick enough.
