    New York gathering July 2019

Who is going to the gathering over the weekend of July 12-14, 2019 at The Villages RV Park at Turning Stone in Verona, New York?

We are looking forward to meeting everyone and gathering for a potluck or some other activities. ??? We are arriving Wednesday - plan several days to get there as it’s just over 600 miles for us.

I just called the park and they are full that weekend for 35’ rigs, they have some smaller sites, and they do get cancellations. She said to just call the park; they don’t do a wait list.

    See you there!

    Hi Kay,
Missed this last Friday, as we were headed back to our trailer at Spruce Row (weekend 2 of 5 for Spring). We don’t seem to have picked up any more interest beyond the list in the other thread (“NY group?”). Eric kindly edited his first post in that thread to include the list, so you don’t have to slog through the whole thing to find it. I’m not surprised the CG is fully booked that weekend. Turns out it’s “Bingo” weekend! Of course we didn’t know that when we were planning. Bingo is a big local draw at the casino, and I think all the freebies, along with shuttle “on demand” from campsite to door is quite the draw! No parking hassle (as if there is, anyway, as shuttles run all through the parking lot too).
Some of us have been chatting about activities for the weekend. Bruce and I are offering pancake breakfast on Saturday morning, we can gather for a group fire and use the magical flames colorizer packets I have (maybe at the pavilion pit, as anyone who cooks on their fire pit probably wouldn’t want the residue in theirs). You, Dave, John, and Carol will be there first, the rest of us will be arriving on Thursday (except, Country Campers, Brian and Michelle, never actually said when they were getting in). Have a safe trip and don’t hesitate to PM with ideas (Lorna and I discussed a “grill” nite maybe Fri or Sat, bring your meat and a side to pass).

Sounds good. Let's plan on a Friday night bring your meat to grill and a dish to pass.

We are probably all close enough that we can just pick one of our campsites sometime Friday.

How about beverages and snacks (e.g., cheese, crackers, chips) Thursday evening?

We will be arriving on Thursday. All sounds good so far. I can cook or help cook , we have a 3 burner stove with a 2 burner griddle top that travels with us. Also have a waffle maker if any one likes those.

Hi all. Hope you all are having a great Memorial Day weekend. To all our Veterans, thank you for your service.
I have a table top grill and portable propane tank . Carol and I like the idea of grilling our own meat. Carol will be bringing a side to share.

Looking forward to meeting everyone in July

    Again, Happy Memorial Day

Looks like things are just falling into place nicely. Thanks, Kay, for suggesting specific days to do things, so we can all be prepared. I’m sure it won’t be too hard to work out the logistics once we’ve all settled in. We lost our cell coverage at the CG this weekend, so I had trouble being on the forum for more than a few minutes. Catching up now.

Just checking in, have not been able to log into the site from work since the site changed. Pretty much use my work computer exclusively, so out of luck. Finally had to go to the phone to log in.

I think we arrive Thursday, but need to check. Only about a two hour drive for us. Get together Thursday and potluck Friday sounds good. Look forward to meeting you all!

Y'all mind if a Texas guy shows up? I will be up there for a destination wedding (niece) on Martha's Vineyard in late June. I plan on traveling up through Maine and and Ontario and then returning through Upstate NY about that time. I can fit in a smaller site - 26'.

Saddlesore, We welcome all. At 26’, they’ll put you in a back-in site (seen to the left here, in our avatar pic). The number for reservations is 315-361-7275 (8am-4pmE). You can go to turningstone.com and click on the section for “accommodations”. In this section, The Villages at Turning Stone (name of campground) is listed and you can pull up the map of the campground, so if there are sites left, you can choose among them visually. The CG looks large, but really, the sections are not that distant from each other.

There’s another thread you may want to read in the “campouts and rallies” forum. Title is: NY Group?? It will tell you how we got to this point. We’re just a group getting together, NOT a rally. There will be no GDRV company representation there, but we may talk about planning a small rally in the future.

The big question I have for you is, Are you taking your TT to Martha’s Vineyard?

In the meantime, you might want to fill out your signature line so we know a little about you.
