Black tank flush floods my bathroom and underbelly with fresh water

Does anyone know how to get to the black tank flush check valve on the 2600RB? I have a 2016 and my first time using it today (bought it used last winter from a dealer far away). I took off the hose connection point on the outside and snugged that up, but I am still getting a very bad water leak from somewhere behind the shower and between the back wall. When I turn on the black tank flush, it starts to flood my bathroom floor from the corner behind the toilet next to the shower, and water starts pouring down from the bumper and underbelly.

I don’t know the layout of your model, but there will be an access panel in a wall behind the shower or in the shower itself. The location of the black tank flush vacuum break is usually more-or-less behind the shower faucets. In our Reflection 303RLS, there is a small access panel in the shower wall below the faucets.

I have seen pictures of some models with this vacuum break located in the cabinet under the bathroom sink.

It will be plumbed with black hose . . . that is what you are looking for.

I blew my vacuum breaker up in a previous trailer by using a "pocket hose" as seen on TV. The pressure really builds up as the water starts to flow.

Our previous TT I removed the vacuum breaker and replaced with an elbow , not well accepted but had worked for 10 years.

I fixed it tonight. This is probably violating some EPA rule but it works. I found that the bottom shelf next to my shower and toilet had 2 screws. I removed those then started to wedge against the shelf and inside wall to pull the shelf up, it was a bugger. The trick was to use a screw into the shelf to pull up on it. Then that revealed another thin shelf underneath it, but with about a 4" diameter hole cut into it. I tried to tighten up the connections to the check valve but it still leaked badly. So I happen to have a 1/2"x1/2" nipple I bought at Tractor Supply Co for a water heater project and used that to join the two connections and eliminate the vacuum breaker. Yes, I know it is a health hazard if it backflows, but I have a black hose used only for this purpose, different from my fresh water hose. No more leaks!! In the photo, you will see zip ties. Those were put there by me in case I "lost" a hose during the mod, so I could easily fish it back up through the hole if needed. I also opened the hole up a little bit to make it easier to get my hands in there. Keep in mind this hole is completely covered up with the other shelf that sits right on top of it.

BTW everyone - because I eliminated the check valve doesn't mean you can't continue to have that protection. Just buy an aftermarket backflow preventer for your garden hose and place it just before the connection to your travel trailer's black tank flush connection. It has the same effect.

You can get a hose-thread backflow preventer lots of places - it would be a good idea to use that at the water spigot to protect the city water supply (I do, anyway). Escapees parks require them whether you have one in the rig or not.

Thanks Rob for the insight! I’m going to use one of those with my black flush hose every time and leave it attached
