    Skylight Cover?

In our extreme heat and sunshine, I try to get the most out of the AC in our Reflection. I have found some nice vent pillows that block the heat and sunlight from coming through the vents. However, one of the biggest light and heat sources is the skylight in the bath. In my last RV, we actually had UV damage to the shower from the sun constantly shining in the skylight.

I have not been able to find a satisfactory cover for the skylight. I wish they didn't even install them in the first place. Has anyone tried to find a cover for their skylight, and were you successful?

    Thanks,

    Jim

Take down the inner piece from the inside, cut a piece of solar mesh to size, and reinstall with mesh between the 2 pieces.

On my last trailer, I went to the local auto part store and bought some spray tint in a can. I removed the inner plastic cover from the skylight and then cleaned the plastic on the opposing side with some rubbing alcohol and followed it up with three light coats of the tint. It worked perfectly and I was able to gauge how much light my wife wanted in the RV and stopped at three coats.

Jim, I got a can of white spray paint. Climbed up on top with some newspaper to place around the skylight's edge and painted it white. It has really made a big difference in the temp. And since I used white, I still get a bit of filtered light coming thru to brighten things up!
