Photo of bad water heater control board

Mods, feel free to change the subject line.

I’ve noticed quite a few threads discussing this topic and thought I would post a photo showing what it looks like.

Notice the “popped” capacitor in the photo (bottom right). It should be a perfect cube. The bulging sides and top indicate the need to replace the control board.

In our case, this caused us to lose functionality of the LP water heater.
The electric water heater still worked even with this popped cap.

    Here’s another angle...

I just had this problem last week, same exact symptom. Fortunately I was camping with my in laws and they had the same water heater with the same board so I swapped them to make sure that fixed the issue. I ordered the Dinosaur replacement (have had good luck with their fridge boards in the past), hopefully it will last longer.

Is there a link to the Dinosaur replacement site. Also what information (heater model number, etc) do I need to order the correct replacement. DMB - what replacement one are you getting? I am thinking of getting a spare.
    Thanks for any help

What does the original cost? It is potted which would cost more, but would be more resistant to moisture, weather, etc..

This happened last year, we replaced it with the OEM board because that’s what GD said they would reimburse us for.
It was right about $200 and it took them 2 months to get a check mailed out to us.

Heads up. I think someone hacked your account This post had an actual photo in lieu of one of your patented cutting edge graphical drawings.
