Travelling with a large dog
We are taking delivery of a Solitude in a week or so. We have a large dog (85 pound Golden Retriever. We have a crew cab pickup, but two kids are already in the second row. Does anyone have their dog ride in the 5th Wheel while underway? How do they do?

I would be concerned with the heat inside the trailer during the summer months. It doesnt take long for it to get very warm inside the trailer without those ACs running.
I know in some states it's illegal for people to be in the trailer while traveling, I've never looked to see if this applies to animals, might want to check.

Sorry but putting your animal in a bouncing, noisy, tight, potentially hot environment where you can't monitor their needs is a terrible idea. I wouldn't put my dog anywhere I wouldn't put my kids. Let the kids and the dog suffer through sharing the back seat and stop often for breaks.

We used to stick him in the middle or on the floor. I would never leave him in the unit while in motion.

I will be surprised if you find any dog owner who would leave a dog in a moving trailer. Not something that we would ever even consider.

We're about to take our 30 lb doodle on a 3000 mile road trip with our 3 boys. She's going to ride in the cab with the kids on the floor.
We've got a good sized pet kennel for her to sleep in when we're inside the fifth wheel (she's not totally house broken yet).
We've taken her on several hour road trips already and she's fine. Most dogs just love being in a moving vehicle. The rocking motion puts them to sleep.2017 Ford F450 - our kids call her "Big Red"
