    East Tennessee

We would like to visit East Tennessee later this year and are not city specific but would like to be within 30 to 45 minutes of Sevierville, Gatlinburg, etc., if possible.

Would prefer wooded sites in a more natural setting. We are not "parking lot style" campers. Would like to have water & 50 Amp service. Don't necessarily need sewer as long as there is a dump station.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions from your experience.

We stayed at the Townsend / Great Smokies KOA a few years ago. Our campsite backed up to the river, which was really nice, and the campground was very convenient to the main drag through Townsend. But space between the campsites definitely had the parking lot feel. There were enough trees for decent shade, but the sites were squeezed pretty close together.

We’re headed there in October and have reservations and high hopes for Little Arrow. Website , reviews , and google earth all look pretty good. Maybe someone who has been there will chime in.

X2 on this one - it's one of our favorite place in East Tennessee. It actually has a few sites with sewer, too. You can reserve on-line.
