    380FL rear camera power

On my 2020 380 FL the rear camera has power full time. I dont want it to be powered full time, prefer it run when my lights are on.

I took the camera assembly down and removed the center red marker light to see if I could find a path to run power between the 2. No way. There was barely room for the wire used to power the light. Theres a stud right behind that spot. Click image for larger version.

I could find no path between the 2, but I did find that the power line to the camera looked just like the power line to the rear 12V fan in my bathroom.

So instead of rerouting power, I found it easier and cleaner to install a small 12V switch in the power line running to the camera. Its not a perfect solution but it allows me to cut power when its not in use.

Know what you mean about that stud in the way. I just drilled through it to snake a wire in between. I left the original always hot plug in place and wrapped in red tape. I then installed the other marker light powered plug so I have the option of either. Currently just using the marker power.

I ran into the same frustration and the same lines of discovery. I ordered a Logisys RM01 12v wireless remote that someone had mentioned on a similar thread, and simply hooked it into the circuit @ the fan. Ran the antenna east and west under the fan vent. Great reception from the truck. I have one remote in the truck with the monitor, the other in the rv.

Yeah I was worried about distance from camera to truck causing poor picture. Saw where someone had bought a larger antenna, that works perfectly. Reception to over 60 feet away is clear.
