    F250

    Hello,
We have a transcend 28mks and a 2015 3.5l ecoboost f150 with max tow package. We are looking at f250's. I don't see any that specify the max tow package. Is that just understood?

    Thank You, Chuck.

Depending why you're looking at a 250, you might want to check out the F150 with heavy duty payload package. Usually dealers dont stock them and some dont know about them. They will get you very similar payload to a f250. This is not the same as the max tow package.

The High Capacity Trailer Tow Package is a $1,130 option on a F250. It gives you the F350 Dana M275 rear end instead of the F250 Sterling rear. etc. it’s rare to find one on the dealer lot. They usually are special order trucks. Most people just go for a F350.

I would look at a SRW F-350 you will pick up quite a bit of payload and the purchase price should be very similar. Our last truck was a SRW F-350 4x4 it had an 11,500 GVWR and 3597 payload. Most F-250’s will be in the low to mid 2K range in payload depending on options.

there is a you tube video where a man that had a 3.5 eco with a 6.2 f250. I find his experience similar to mind. If the 3.5 has the power you are looking for but you want more payload and a better towing platform the you will be happy with the 6.2. If you want more power then go with a F350 6.7.A 6.7 F350 and a gas 250 will have about the same payload rating with the same trim levels. I found the truck I use after much research. With the miles I drive being retired, how often I tow, where I tow mainly and the size of the trailer I went with the 6.2. The truck did not disappoint both towing and what little daily driving I do. I have come to realize of all the trucks I have owned that this one is my favorite. It is a solid platform and does everything I need it to do. Good luck and hope you fine what you are looking for. Payload before my few add ons was 3351

Thank you everyone for the replies. Being as price is an issue, we are going to down size the trailer. Much cheaper to do plus we really like the f150.

My gas 250 has a payload if 3192, see my signature. Most people that say the 250 has a payload range of 2k are talking about diesel only
