My wife and I used to ride. I had a Softail Standard and she rode a Softail Deluxe. She blew her knee and could not ride anymore. I still have a 2006 Wide Glide but because she doesn't ride, I don't get out much. I'll probably sell the bike as we enjoy getting out in the RV a lot more and I don't much enjoy getting out by myself or with others when my wife isn't included.

The Victory XCT is down there in the Fort Rock parking lot. My wife and I took a little ride (50 miles or so one way) from Cascade Meadow RV Resort ( just North of La Pine, Oregon ) last weekend. KEN

Ability to adapt. DW and I discussed our changing riding styles. 5 years ago we were all about off road riding. Forest roads, 2 lane tracks in the mountains, heaven. Then it was more getting around town, going to concerts and being able to find parking, quick trip to the store, and some scenic riding. She has ridden her new motorcycle only about 100 miles in the last year. Mostly we double up on mine. Then we did the 100 mile trip and were miserable.
Time out. Re-evaluate! We are not going to do dirt riding any more, she is not physically capable. So, if she is not going, most likely I wont go. The DR650 does a pretty good job on the highway, 60-65 mph is pretty comfortable for the motor, but not for the rear ends. So here is my story and I am sticking to it.
I really need a haircut, so I pulled off the road to do a phone search for a barber, well, it just so happened there was a motorcycle dealership at the intersection, and I had to pee. So what the heck, I pulled into the dealership and walked around a bit, found the potty, looked up the barbershop. Keeping in mind our change in riding style. Lots of bikes to look at, no, no, no, no, maybe, no, no ??? Little black street bike. Easy to double up on, but not a big cruiser. I have never seen one like it. Harley-Davidson, probably way to expensive.... 750cc.... Mustang seat.... Low profile.... pulled my DR650 up next to it. The DR was slightly narrower, much taller, and the DR was a lot longer. Hmmm!
If I dump the Kymco and the DR and get this bike it's small squat profile would make it easy for DW to ride solo, the 750 makes it fast enough to be comfortable on those paved two lane highways we like to ride. It would free up a ton of garage space. Ok, I will present it to the boss.
I love my wife, one of the few people in the world that are crazier than I am, her first response was: "Where is the dog going to ride?" I know, it sounds stupid crazy, but our dog
rides with us, we have a number of devices to carry her. But the HD Street 750 is pretty compact, it's a valid question. Anyway, the deed is not done but we are looking. It's a 2015 Harley-Davidson Street 750 they are asking $5999 for, evaluating trad ins. They are afraid of the Kymco because it's not listed in NADA nor KBB so they really low balled me on trade in value. Comparative studies indicate they valued my DR650 about right, but they are at least $500 high on their bikes price.
We'll probably ride down on our bikes with titles in hand to see if we can dicker out a good deal, but right now they are wanting about $1000 more than I am willing to spend. I will compromise, but we are not so excited about it to give away the bank.
Who knows, I may become a Harley-Davidson owner, who would have thought....Last edited by D2Reid; 06-14-2019 at 11:31 PM.

Interesting choice Dallas.
HERE is a review.
To me, it doesn't look like it would be comfortable 2 up, but that me. I was a HD rider for over 30 years until I got my Victory.
Good luck choosing a new bike. KENBackpacker and tent camper all my life, including BSA as a kid and adult.

Okay D2Ried, I totally understand you were only looking for a haircut. Now you will have to update the thread on the outcome of your haircut/Motorcycle shopping. Good luck! There alot of nice bikes to choose from.
