Another avid motorcyclist here! It's really cool that there are so many of us on this list. I already wrote a little about my riding in the welcome mat area & found out that xrated & I have some common ground.

For me, pretty much >90% of my RVing centers around motorcycling - which is why I bought the 349M. I can't wait to take it out - I just got it last month!

My riding is really two different sports - roadracing & dirt riding. I'll make this post for roadracing, the next for dirt biking.

I've been roadracing since '89 & I've raced every year since, only missing races due to broken bones. I have a few class championships and a couple of top 10 open class numbers. I ran my racing as a for profit business for about 10 years and won a national Aprilia contingency program in 2005 ($$$ ). I raced one AMA Pro race at Daytona in '96 and didn't completely embarrass myself. At last count, I've raced at 24 tracks across the nation as far east as Daytona and west to Portland International. I'm currently on the board of the Motorcycle Roadracing Association (MRA) here in Colorado and I'm also on the board of directors for the Colorado Amateur Motorsports Association - the managing entity for High Plains Raceway. I instruct at the MRA new racers' school and for the SuperStreet program and I write articles for Roadracing World & Motorcycle Technology.

I started racing a Yamaha RZ350, then in progression - FZR400, FZR560(400/600), YZF750R, TL1000S, TL1000R (2 of them), Aprilia RSV1000R, Ducati 1098R, now Ducati 1199R Panigale. I have a '69 Honda CR750 racebike that I want to get running soon and take it to some AHRMA races! Since those are far apart, I think the Grand Design 349M will do me just fine for those trips!

I've been dirt bike riding even longer than roadracing. I got my first dirt bike in 1979 - Yamaha DT100. Although I've done a couple of hare scrambles, MX & flattrack races, dirt has been mostly fun for me.

    In succession, I had the DT100, then a '76 Husqvarna CR360, '86 Cagiva WMX500, '87 Honda CR500R, & KTM520 MXC.

I love trail riding, and have ridden a lot in Colorado, Utah, and California. Since 2016, I turned my dirt riding into a job by getting involved with trail inventory work for the BLM, the USFS, and a couple of state agencies - currently Idaho. I've done inventory work in Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Nevada, Colorado, and New Mexico. We typically do 8-14 day work cycles for these trips with between 4-6 people on the crew. I've been using a KZ 33P toy hauler for the last few years for these trips and I'm *REALLY* looking forward to outfitting my new 349P for this upcoming work season.

Just this year, we started combining mountain biking and hiking into the inventory process since we had some non-motorized and non-mechanized areas we needed to do. I found it pretty cool to be packing my hiking shoes with me, ride about 20 miles into a remote trail of a wilderness area, then hike for a few miles - all in the name of work. I could go on and on, but I'll just say it's totally a dream job for me. If anyone is interested in what this all entails, I'll be happy to describe it in a separate thread (so others can just ignore it).

We love to ride, the springer has 82k on the clock and still is my favorite ride but my wife is becoming more comfy on the Road glide...

Been riding dirt since before I could walk.

Raced Motocross and Arenacross 1991-2002. Still have my last new race bike, and a "not the same VIN, but same year/make/model" of my first race bike. .

    1986 Kawasaki KX125
    1988 Yamaha YZ400F

Street wise, I went through a series of cheap beaters when I was in HS and college, and currently have:
2003 Triumph Bonneville T100 bought new
1982 Honda CX500 Turbo (genesis of username). Thought they were cool when I was a kid, and found one 9 years ago.

Bought a toy hauler so I can hit some old fart races, (40+ Expert class) and vintage races, while keeping the wife/kids/dogs happy. Well, as happy as my wife is to be at Unadilla, Budds Creek or Southwick and not be riding.

I've been riding since my dad bought me a Honda S65 back in 1963. Many different bikes over the years, but down to a 1999 Honda Interceptor at
the present. Lots of dirt bike riding in southern Missouri back in the 70's and 80's. Traveled thoroughly throughout the states on various bikes, first
of which was a 1971 Triumph Bonneville in '73. Did a dirt bike tour on Honda 500 dirt bikes down in Peru at the turn of the century. Much fun, and
ended up hiking the Inca Trail into Machu Picchu.
