    2020 2600rb tank cables

    hello,
We are looking to buy a imagine 2600rb. This will be the first trailer we've had that has cables for the tank drains. Are there any lubricating measures to take to keep them working or any tips and tricks?

    Thank You, Chuck

The cables work fine. I think they are encased in Teflon and need no lube.

The rods that connect the cables to the handles might be a different matter. Over the past winter both of our grey tank dump valves became stuck shut. It took a good bit of penetrating lubricant and some twisting with a pair of Vice-Grip pliers to break the rods loose from their housings so that the cables would operate. I'll be keeping the rods lubricated from now on to avoid repeating this problem.

I had the similar issue with mine. Put some grease on them now to keep them from getting stuck.

Same here, the gray tank cables have always been fine, but the black tank cable was pretty well stuck on our 2nd trip out. Now I lube the shafts during winterizing and anytime they start getting hard to pull.

Thanks for the replies. Any particular type of lube or is silicone ok to use?
    Thanks

I just used the wheel bearing grease that I had in the storage compartment. I have used vaseline on my previous trailer. I don't think it really matters just need something there to prevent the corrosion from seizing it up.

With 2 rvs overs 7 yrs in the midwest heat, humidity, cold and snow I have always used spray silicone on the rods every time I dump working the rods open and closed several times after spraying the shafts and have never had any issue.
