In my experience, same 5er, GM chucked by far the most. Ford good and Ram best. All HD duellies. All 2015 or newer...GMC Denali was terrible. Really...

If the truck is contributing to the chucking, what would be the thing to look at? Springs? Shocks? Tires? PSI in tires?

What about installing air bags and a MorRyde hitch? We used this set up with our Reflection and it solved 90% of the herky jerky action. We now have a Trailair kingpin with a B&W hitch and air bags and it works great... (I should've mentioned with a Solitude we bought a year ago..)

Is it chucking (a back-and-forth motion), or porpoising (bobbing up and down)? They are so close in ride comfort sometimes it’s hard to tell. This has probably been revised and discussed thousands of times on RV forums, but still need mentioning again I think for this discussion.
If chucking then maybe it’s a different pin box that is needed. I put on a MorRyde pin box on my rig (see my signature) and it helped - a lot. The Roto-Flex just pulled and pushed and made bad noises when starting and stopping.
To try to fix a bit of the chucking and a lot of the bouncing/porpoising I put AirLift air bags on my 1 ton. I really can’t tell if it helped or not. I’ve run with 5 lbs and 70 lbs. I think 60 to 70 lbs is better; it gets weight off my helper springs.
Anyhow.... if the 1500 rode better then I’m going to guess air bags will help more than a pin box.
It’s really too bad we have to spend more money after our large purchases to make things better.....Larry KE4DMG

The OP has a 150 Series Reflection.
The pinboxes are not replaceable.
An FYI, the haulers that bring these in to us everyday always say that the GD products tow the best of any they haul.

I have what might be a stupid question....if the trailer rides close to level and i want to increase pin weight to help solve chucking, is putting weight into the bed of the truck going to have the same effect as putting the weight on the trailer?
