Loving life in our fortress of Solitude!

Hi there, We just wanted to introduce ourselves to our brothers and sisters in the Grand Design family!

Me and my childhood bestie have been partners in crime for nearly 50 years! Our passion for camping in the great outdoors started when we were kids, constructing our own makeshift tents with lawn chairs and blankets. We moved on to camping in our backyards with store-bought tents, and graduated to road trip camping when we were old enough to drive. We roughed it for decades and loved it!! We've been there for each other through it all: kindergarten, growing up, school, jobs, book writing, marriages, illness, children, divorce and, God willing in the next 5 years, retirement!

We are fortunate to have come full circle in our lives to a point where we are both independent and able to spend more time together again. Our first thought was to buy a house together but, given our adventurous nature, we decided our money was better put toward something that fueled our passion. Enter Grand Design!! We purchased our Solitude last summer and have been smiling ever since, looking forward to exploring more of this planet, and excited to see where we'll end up next. The future looks bright as we count down the days until we can enjoy our incredible fortress of Solitude full-time!!
