I would be of the same opinion and think that it would not work.

If anyone is doing something similar and wants to see my wifes strap design let me know and I will post a picture. We installed the straps a few weeks after the new mount so no pics were taken. Basically two black straps made out of material used for straps on a cloth grocery bag. Stick on velcro on the cabinet. Velcro sewed to ends of straps. Easy to install / remove and don't take up much space.

I'm one person who would like to see this. Could you post some photos? Thanks.

Haven't forgotten about adding the pictures. Just got out of the hospital and getting things back to "normal".

Will get them in next couple of days.

I hope your hospital visit was not serious and that you are okay. Looking forward to seeing the photos when you find the time. No rush.

Here is a picture of the straps my wife made for the new tv mount installation. Velcro is sewn on the end of the straps. We used velcro with an adhesive backing to attach to the cabinet. This along with the pool noodles pieces ( previous pictures ) allows you to pull the straps snug. Have some health issues and haven't been able to test in real life but I think it will work great. Straps easy to remove and store.

It looks quite nice and should work like a charm. Well done.

By the way, how did your hospital visit go? Hope you are doing well.

I finally spent some time in the trailer and see what you mean. The original arm is simply too short to reverse. It is too short even in its current orientation. I still need to mount a TV in the bedroom. Other than being too short for this I wonder about using the old mount in the bedroom while I replace the other with the one you have here?

    Hey all,

I used the same mount and cloth straps as noted here, couldn't be happier

Found the backer board behind the TV was not enough for the new mounting plate so I also added a larger backer board, one where I could get 4 bolts into the older backer board and long enough to the right so the new TV mount plate had a solid mounting surface, where I also used 4 bolts through and through...

For the straps, the wife sewed some velcro on each end, I attach the velcro to the inside trim of the RV frame using sticky velcro, so little pressure is on the TV during travel this is more than enough support

The other thing I really like about this mount is getting just a few degrees of tilt to the TV, more more looking up at a flat TV

    Here is a couple pics

    Enjoy
