poor mans/temporary slide topper! LOL

Had a bright idea of going to a fabric store and got 7 feet of black rip stop nylon. after unsuccessfully trying without a frame this is what i came up with. I used:

2-10ft sections of 3/4" pvc pipe

6-T's (4 for feet) and 2 for cross brace

4-90* fittings for the ends.

I put feet on each end 9" from each side. The frame goes up against the rain drip rail and the other side fits snugly against the curve of the top of the slide. The angle is from side of rv down roughly 2" to the slide edge.

I also picked up a 4ft section of 1" pvc to make my own snap connectors to hold the fabric. So far it has not moved with some pretty good wind gusts today.

Rain tonight so will follow up.....

my reason was for noise of heavy rains. I love the sound of rain on the roof, but it is louder by far on the slides. My previous attempt was a large cushion with some rubber backed carpet on top.....got wet and actually had ants....so this is my latest for now....

oh, costs were less then 30 bucks!

Was thinking about starting with a 2” sheet of foil backed insulation, somehow enclosing it in something like the nylon you used, adding some kind of spacer to raise it off the slide and figuring out a way to anchor it.

It is raised off the slide. I used 4 T's on the corners. The back against the rv is snugly underneath the drip rail about 5" up, and the other end is up about 3" just under the curve of the slide. Look underneath your slide and you will see the metal edge is curved.....same on top.

Hope that makes sense. I did no anchoring and it did not budge yesterday with wind gusts around 20mph.

Each piece is dry fitted. I can take off ends and middle cross piece an roll it up.

Just a quick followup....heavy rains today.....seems to be puddling on either side of the center cross member.....will have to either put a few more pieces in to reinforce or maybe a hole in the fabric.....might also try to angle it more by taking off the feet on the low side.....just an fyi to those crazy enough to follow! LOL
