Tire shop could not get Westlakes off of rims without damaging wheels!

Routine and run of the mill is what I had in mind around lunch time Monday.....hopefully by early afternoon Friday I will be set..... I guess, on the upside, I have a spare rim and 2 tires mounted all for free now? Wasn't my goal and not looking for handouts but I certainly wont frown on that lol

Sorry, but your post made me laugh. I really wouldn't want to be in your shoes but I do hope you end up getting them all mounted for free.

What was supposed to be a 1/2 day project getting tires swapped out has dominated my week with nearly 300 miles driven now......

What a PIA! If you were anywhere near Vegas I'd say bring me those tires and wheels and I'd knock 'em out for ya.

FYI: When I replaced the WestLakes with G614’s the shop made comments about how hard it was getting the WestLakes off. However, they did get them off and replaced with no damage to the wheels.

Ya, I have the last 3 wheels at a fleet services shop in Gainesville now - they have metal duckheads and the plastic insert to protect aluminum rims...fingers crossed! lol

Success!! All 5 wheels are now wearing Sailuns and back on the trailer

The shop that was able to do this correctly also can do my state inspection and when I am ready to put on disc brakes, will help with that too!

Indeed I am. Don't think we are going anywhere this weekend though unfortunately - had no time to "move" into the new trailer since it was closed up and on jack stands all week (since the wheels were supposed to be a one day thing not an all week thing). A rule I made for myself (maybe it is a universal good idea and I am just late to the party?) - when the trailer is on jack stands with no wheels, slides are in and no one goes in/on the trailer just in case. I definitely did not like being underneath it when needed to install the SRE4000 and cross members while it was on stands (I did use the leveling jacks to help stabilize as well). Could have swore it looked like the stands on one side were leaning a little bit. But, all better now with wheels back on

Next weekend we are for sure going somewhere, wife wants to be camping on the anniversary

I just took mine to a discount tire and they swapped them in a less than an hour. The Sailuns are a huge upgrade also.
