    315rlts owners please

We just got our 2020 315TS recently. Towing with a 2019 F350 SRW crew cab 6&3/4' bed. Changed out the TT tires for GY endurance. Blue OX swaypro 2000 lbs hitch. With 1500 lbs bars also. How fast are you towing with your setup? And what is it. Havent towed very far yet. Still getting the feel for it. 60 to 62 mph seems abiut the upper end for comfort so far.
    TIA

I have a EazLift Trekker 1200 lb hitch, (https://www.eaz-lift.com/product-pag...r-hitch-1200lb) and never tow faster than 65. It feels comfortable for me there.

I just passed 10,000 miles of towing my '19 315RLTS one month shy of a year of ownership. I have Blue Ox w/2K bars set at 10 links, airlift bags on my DRW set at 30 psi, and I'm also running GY endurance tires. I keep my speed at <=65 mph but that is for fuel mileage purposes, not stability of any other concern. I can easily do 70 on an open interstate with no problems. (I've tracked mileage, so I know that extra 5 mph results in a ~10% decrease in fuel mileage!)

Tongue weight is critically important, too. If you haven't gone to a CAT scale "ready to camp" I urge you to do so.

I've posted this pic before but can't find the original thread...so here it is again. Note the difference in the tongue weight as the number of links is changed. (Your setup will be different--the point is to show why it is important to KNOW your weights.)

I use the Blue Ox with 2000 lb bars, generally at 9 links. Goodyear Endurance tires. All tires @ 80 psi. I tow at 60 - 65. Trailer tows rock solid. I have made a short foray into the 80 mph zone just to see how things went. Rock solid, no sway. I'm very happy with this hitch set up. 65 mph is a towing sweet spot for my rig. If you experience any wandering or unpleasantness I'd highly recommend trying the 2000 lb bars.

I pulled with the 2k bars...pretty squirmy feeling. Cat scaled it with 2k bars...empty, 9th link. front axle 4800lbs. Rearaxle 4860lbs. Trailer 8500lbs. We dont haul much around with us yet local cant see more than 300 lbs added to the front storage area on average. Long haul..yeah ..a couple Honda's and full gear. The Blue Ox rep said having to heavy of spring bars very well could induce sway. I asked about running on the 8th link. Was told that some like that. BUT there needs to be between 2 and 3 inches of deflection in the bars to work properly.. Very similar information from etrailer rep when I ordered the 1500lbs bars. They both also cautioned not to go very much over the 1500lbs either. So I have 2 sets to tweak with. TTtires were @ 72lbs. Took them to 80psi cold. More weight in the nose now. Gonna load it a little heavy and take it for a ride this weekend and cat scale it again with the 1500lbs bars on link 9.. I know from reading as much as I can find that this truck and trailer are compatable and will tow pleasantly. Just got to find the sweet spot.
Thank You all for all your help

I will read all those links this evening when I get home from work

I have the 313RLTS (predecessor to 315RLTS, same basic numbers). I have 1,500 lb BlueOx bars. Keep tongue weight at 1,230 lbs. Trailer at 10,950 lbs. Goodyear Endurance tires. Pulls great at 65-70 mph. Was pulling it with Nissan Titan XD diesel. Now have F350 DRW diesel, haven't towed it yet, but should be even better with bigger truck.

You need to figure out what percentage your tongue weight is at. About 15% makes for a stable tow. I usually tow at 70 on the speedo, which is really 67 according to the GPS. That seems to be the sweet spot on my truck. Even the roadside radar signs show my speedo off 3 mph.

Jim, how do you keep your tongue weight so low? Our trailer is only 10,700lbs but our tongue weight is at 1700lbs

I installed a toolbox in the rear hitch and load about 300 lbs of tools, propane tank, etc. That far behind the axles really helps to offload the tongue. I also load out the inside rear of the trailer with as much as possible, and offload as much from the front. I then use my Sherline tongue weight scale to make fine tuning adjustments to the load. After a few trips it has become relatively easy to predict what goes where. I’ve got to the point where I can balance it out to about +/- 20 lbs on the tongue. I end up with a tongue weight of about 12%.

I do 65 mph, about 4500 miles so far. I have a blue ox 2000 but use my 1500 bars at 8 or 9 links still haven't found the right spot as I get more porpoiseing than I like. I also have air bags but try to keep them at 10psi not sure if that's why the rides poor. Tongue weights about 1250 unless I have water on board which I only do for long trips. Have not changed tires YET!
