    Reinforcing shower floor in 2950RL

This thing has the cute little corner shower in it.

I may be cute (curtsey), but I am not little.

Has anyone any suggestions as to how to reinforce the fiberglass floor so it doesn't feel like I am walking on a trampoline?

    Thanks!

We have a corner shower in our 5th wheel. I'm not particularly big, but I managed to crack the shower pan. I had stepped on the small (about 3" wide) space between the drain and the shower pan edge). My husband went in the basement and used foam insulation spray (the non-expanding type) to fill in all around the drain from below. Basically giving it a really solid area there.

I took mine back to dealer for same issue. It's for the drain. Nothing can be done. I put down a thick mat with holes to disperse weight.

Could you post what may you used? I don’t like the soft floor in our shower.

Any more updates or thoughts on supporting floor in shower? Mine is soft, too. Worried about how long before it brakes/cracks.

Hi, I added two 2x4’s cut to size to match the distance between the floor and shower floor. You can install them by removing the shower access panel. I took a rough measurement and then a couple cuts to get a nice press fit. I then put a dab of liquid nails on either end of the 2x4 and then rotated them into place about 6-7” from either side of the drain. Be sure to seat about an inch from the edge of the plywood.

Were the supports in the back of the first picture already in place, or did you add those as well?

Those are factory, I just added the two pieces in the middle. It’s 90% better now. Just a real small amount of flex left. BTW I’m 240lbs. The only trick to it is fishing them into position and then rotating them upright. I used the non plywood area by the drain to size them up and as a space to rotate them. I’d recommend some adhesive to keep them from ever moving. I rubbed liquid nails into the end grain but it still gets a little messy as you can see. Overall it took 20 minutes and I feel it’s never gonna give me any problems.
