Outdoor 12 volt power point
I needed a way to plug in my various air pumps and other 12 volt devices in use outside the rig. So I built this adapter cable that connects to the rig’s electrical connector. Terminal 4 is connected directly to battery power so you can easily tap into the battery this way.
I used a female 7 way connector and a 12 volt power point cable I found. I cut the battery clips off the end of the cable and wired it to the positive (4) and negative (1) terminals in the connector, along with a fuse block on the positive side.
Because I like things to have multiple purposes, I also connected the 12v terminal to terminal 3 with a short piece of wire so the rig’s running lights turn on. That way if I want, I can light up the rig at night as well as power up my rear view camera.
The coiled power point cable stretches out nicely to make it easy to use my air pumps without needing my truck nearby.2014 Ford F-150 Ecoboost / Max Tow / HD Payload
