New 16" rims - Recomendations
I hope there are some expert wheel and tire folks out there.
I currently have the 15" Westlake Jaguar Aluminum Wheels and tires. I have been researching changing to 16" to get better tires and lift the trailer a bit. I do have the room and clearance to make the change
I like the jaguar look, but have been reading about cracking issues, especially in the 16" size in that model and brand. The same can be said for numerous other china made aluminum wheels if you read a lot of reviews, etc.
I would love to find a USA made aluminum rim, but most catalogs do not share that information. I know I have a 6 bolt 5 1/2" pattern, but not sure about the center opening, or does that matter?
Thanks for any help on this. I am not savvy when it comes to wheels and tires.

No recommendations, or is this the place to post this question?

I can't answer your question Keith but I just did a search for '16" wheels' and found a ton of threads from folks who moved from 15" to 16" wheels. You should be able to find what you're looking for in those threads.

BTW, I haven't heard of any problems with the Lionshead wheels that come on Grand Design RV's. If it were me, I'd start with them for the 16" wheels then I'd mount Sailun S637 tires on them

I am still looking for quality 16" rims with the 6 on 5.5 bolt pattern to upgrade tires. Probably 6.5 width for the 16" tires - correct? Unfortunately Lionshead is still having cracking issues (16" jaguar rims pirmearrly). if you Google Lionshead and wheel cracking there are several threads.
I have been trying to find USA made rims, but just about zero luck. Any help wold be appreciated.2018 Reflection 150 Series 220RK 5th wheel with 6K axle upgrade. My last 5er had wheels from here https://www.tredittire.com/wheels/. In 6 years zero issues. They supply wheels to many of the major brands. Remember when looking for RV trailer rims that they have a 0" offset.

I purchased these,
T16-665655MB 16X6.5 6X5.5 +0 3.75 3750 LBS @ 110 PSI
http://sendelwheel.com/wheels/t16mb.html
On the wheel, is shows 4400 lb capacity. Not the 3750 advertised....Took me a long time to find wheels like this....6 lug with 4400 lb capacity. these might be the only ones...Last edited by phonemannn; 02-15-2020 at 11:47 AM.

I put these on my 303 when I went from 15"-16" rims. I also put on the Sailun 637 tires. I actually ordered 5 rims, but in hind site I should have ordered 4 aluminum and then a cheaper steel rim for the spare. https://www.etrailer.com/Boat-Traile...ils=.questions
I would also suggest you use an actual tire shop and have them balance each assembly. I initially used a local big box farm supply, but the weights they used starting falling off in a day. The tire shop knew what they were doing. I dropped them off in the morning and they were ready in the afternoon.
I have been completely satisfied with performance. There is something to be said for overspecing critical components like tires, suspension, etc. Do pay attention to the correct air pressure for higher rated tires. You will need to get the load charts for the new tire and match inflation to weight...after you weigh it of course, preferably each tire separately . Great article here that explains it best imho https://www.rvsafety.com/rveducation...-tire-pressure
