I thought the same with mine. The frig side felt like it wasn't cold enough. I phoned Norold Tech support and the tech told me to place thermometer in a cup/glass/bottle of water and read temp of the water. This will give you food temp. They also told me the food temp for frig should be 35F or lower and freezer should be 4F or lower if working correctly. The frig goes through a "defrost" cycle once every 48 hrs to remove ice from the vanes on the back wall and if you are taking air temp at that time, it could be misleading. Upon taking temp as they said, my frig food temp was 32 and my freezer was 3 overnight with the setting on 9. Also told me to turn frig off and then on when going to bed so the "defrost" would happen while sleeping. Food temp doesn't rise when door stays closed. This information and my findings saved me a trip for unneeded warranty work in my case. My next trip, I'm going to experiment with the settings.
