    Broken screws

Was walking around our 2970, which we have owned just over a week, and noticed a missing screw head on the trim piece at the bottom of the door side slide.

Then I noticed that there was a screw head present, but the trim piece was loose (notice the rust on the screw shank, been broke a while)

Since my local hardware store doesn't carry cappuccino colored screws, I bought a box of stainless steel screws and replaced all the trim screws in both slides. The kitchen slide had 2 broken screws. I also added screws half way between all the original screws. The distance between screws ranged from 13 to 24 inches.

Sorry for the sideways pictures, they were straight when I uploaded.

    Papa and Mimi,

Not unusual. Type in “broken screws” in the search function and you’ll see how others remedied this.

Consider yourself lucky that's all you found wrong.

We had 4 screw heads that snapped off and there was no way to drill them out. Had to make another hole near each to fix and plugged in the snapped off screw with black silicone. Noticing ladder screws did not go in straight but at least heads have not snapped off yet. Don’t know if it’s over torquing or bad batch of screws.
