    Sewer Hose Near Miss

After I dumped the the black and gray tanks at the dump station, I went to put the sewer hose away and the connector end of the RhinoFlex hose just came right off. I'm lucky it did not come apart while dumping, that would have made a mess. I'll be inspecting hose ends before each use from now on.

They twist on like a hose. Yep, good call to verify in the future before hooking up and dumping tanks. Don't ask me how I know... BTW.. a near miss is a HIT..

Our Viper hose started to develop pinhole leaks. I threw some duct tape on there and was very careful with the hose for the remainder of our trip. When I got home I ordered a new hose.

I believe rhino hose instructions say to tighten end fittings before using the first time. Mine were pretty loose when purchased.

Regarding the pin hole leaks mentioned above; does anyone know the life expectancy of these sewer hoses?

This is one I'd rather be preventive on.

Apparently they are pretty tough, I recently had the little cover door on my hose storage tube come off. I drug about 10 feet of sewer hose down I-10 unknowingly until traffic flagged me down lol. Hose was hardly marked up at all and worked fine, no leaks!

The life expectancy is from the day you buy it until the day it leaks. Really no way to tell. But I always do this: Carry a spare hose or two. You never know when you might need the extra length to reach the sewer hookup. And when you get ready to dump the tanks run a little water out of one of the grey tanks first shut the tank valve and look for leaks. Better grey on the ground than black I always say (yes it's true, I always say that).

I have to say Txfivver, I got a hearty laugh out of that!!! I’m pretty sure you should get a royalty check for HALT’s (Highly Accelerated Life Test) testing. Good work!

I recently had the hose come off the connector when connecting to the sewer connector. Screwed it all back together and all is good.

Has anyone figured a way to keep the hose from unscrewing from the connectors?

    Also:
I use a bit of wire to secure the little doors on the sewer hose storage tube. KEN

Well, our original hose developed pinholes after about 2 years. We bought a new, heavier duty hose, with 2 sections.
