That was done with a MIG welder by this guy. My out of position stick welding is not to be trusted. Younger eyes would help.

It was not to print provided by me but it'll do.

MIG With lots of gas flowing. AND I'm not a welder, just a DIY kinda guy.

Be careful using brake cleaner and then welding. There are lots of threads warning that heated brake cleaner produces phosgene gas which is deadly in very small quantities.

Fluoridated brake cleaners are not legal in Calif. But I clean before welding with acitone only just to be safe. Thanks for bringing this up. I think few hobby welders are aware and it’s a serious issue.

Now that looks stout! I was just going to box in the hangers but your solution looks much stronger..thanks for the idea!

What size angle did you use? My unit is hard to get to in storage, and I want to see what size I need before I pull it out.

Hanger broke off rear drivers side. Awaiting call re: my case, from Lippert. Two other hangers are suspect. Paint flaking off at the bend radius and rust showing the length of the bend. 2018 303rls. The welds are fine. The cracks develop in the bends of the hanger. Very poor design. Not an engineer but shake my head when I look at the design. A friend brought his 2018 303rls home today. You guessed it. Visible crack in curb side rear hanger. No V clips on mine or my friends. Obviously a fix that needs to be done on all of these rigs. (Hello GD, do the right thing).
