Heckuva trip, besides the road and hike, spent 4 hours on a rented pontoon boat on Flathead Lake, amazing scenery and huge mansions crowding the shoreline.
Check out the ski lift at Whitehorse, spectacular views from up there.
Make sure the girls hit the spa at Whitefish Lodge, ours really enjoyed it.
Whitefish has a fun downtown, breweries & a distillery.

Mahalo for the great tips - I’ve added several of these to the list! I’m trying to visit as many microbreweries as I can while trekking across the country!

This might be a Dumb Question but How do they get deliveries at West Glacier Village. Trucks must be going in and out someplace.

Not all Scottie, if I remember correctly & read Google right, the entrance station is north of West Glacier, just off US highway 2, roads are plenty wide at that location. We saw small bobtail trucks distributing goods inside the park.

Being from Montana I would make sure you know what your up against on Beartooth Pass. It is an incredible drive but can be challenging with a large RV and for people that have not been up a road that steep and winding as well as the high altitude. 10,000 ft or so. Just my thought. Welcome to Montana!

I did Beartooth pass on my Harley coming back from Montana on my way back to Texas. GREAT ride but I would not take it pulling my 376th. Good advice !

Beartooth with an RV...heck no !! that is why I suggested a day trip from Glacier.
It was worth the entire day taking that drive, and will do it again if or when we are back to that area.

That’s a pretty good drive from glacier, we just got a campsite in Red Lodge and rode up the Beartooth and into Yellowstone, had lunch at the Roosevelt area then went back out and down over the chief Joseph and then back to Red Lodge, it was a pretty full day. Since we only went up the Beartooth, someday I would like to go back and do that loop in the opposite direction just because the views are so much different.

I Realize this is a bit off topic but since you’re out in west glacier I have to make a couple of suggestions ... I spent several months out of every year from 2002 to 2017 in the Whitefish area.. if you like thin crust NY style pizza, Jersey Boys in downtown whitefish is really good! If you like the best homemade pies on the planet or want an incredible breakfast visit Lula’s also in downtown Whitefish... and when it come to seafood if you travel a few minutes west of town on Rt 93 you’ll come across Stillwater. Amazing seafood...
