    Battery vent hose outlet

Being one of the guys that hasn’t (yet) converted to non-offgassing batteries, my battery boxes have vent hoses that vent to the outside. The OEM installed vent “louver” on the outside of the camper at the end of the vent pipe is pointing upward, meaning that any water running down the front wall of the storage bay can easily run into the vent tube, as can rain. Does this seem right? I’m thinking that the vent cap was installed upside down. Anybody know for sure?
    Thanks!

I know for sure that our vanes are slanted down, not up.

I also know for sure that I'd like to convert to "non-off-gassing" batteries. So many things chewing at my wallet.
