    The way self adjusting brakes work is when moving apply the brake pedal and the star wheel will only turn 1 click per brake application. If the brakes are way out of adjustment it would take a lot of braking to get them adjusted up. It would be better to jack up the trailer and manually adjust them up.

    Our Reflection has had self adjusting brakes since I replaced the greasy brakes right after purchase. Here is the maintenance procedure I've used since then:



    That's it. Pretty simple.

    I would not trust them to self adjust. If youve seen the mechanism, its pretty funky stuff from the 50’s.

    Mine have been self adjusting for 30K miles without issue. It's a well proven design.
