Why does my truck "Quack" ?

Ford F-350 6.7 diesel. When I turn it off, exit the cab, about the time I get to the rear of the truck....it quacks. Just like a duck. One, single, solitary, ...Quack! Anybody got a clue???? (Actually quite humorous)

    OMG...Too funny!

I'd be willing to bet the quack noise is coming from the fuel tank or fuel system. Could be a vent be sticking or clogged and you are hearing air rushing in. Maybe it's air or small amounts of fuel or air escaping from one of the fuel filters or fuel lines releasing some of the pressure now that the truck is off. Just a thought.

    Ed,

I have a 2012 F250 6.7, no quack but a few seconds after it is turned off I can hear a pressure release. It has always done it.

Wow... out of sheer curiosity I googled quacking noise, Ford Diesel. Here's a whole thread about it

    https://www.powerstroke.org/forum/ge...uck-quack.html

There is apparently even a TSB about it.
