LED Intrermittent on Portable Ice Make Z8-12. Ice maker full.

I have an old (2016) Z8-12 ice maker like the ones you see in the RV stores selling for around $150.

I found that ice bin full sensor is showing the bin full much of the time. It uses an IR LED to detect when the bin is full.

The photodetector seems to be OK since I can use a TV remote to bypass the intermittent LED emitter. Has anyone had a similar problem and replaced the failed emitter?

I tried the 10 second hold select button bypass, but apparently my unit is too old for that trick.

Might be time for a new icemaker, I think they've even come down in price since in the 5 yrs you had that one.

Yeah, but if I fix this one I save $150-$210.

Well I am getting closer to the problem. It looks like the photo detector is out of place. If I can figure out how to get the side skins off of this I should be able to fix it.

The new units have different side skins so I need to figure out how to remove on the old units.
