Air Compressor install
Just bought the VIAR 300 RVS compressor, thinking of storing it in the curbside storage bay, run hard wire to it from the batteries.
With 30' hose, should be easy to reach trailer and pickup tires.
Anybody have a more clever idea?
Thx,

John, my VIAIR RV 450 came with emphatic instructions to have the engine running while using it (assuming that a vehicle's battery would be the power source). So a consideration in your idea is, do you want to risk killing your trailer's battery or will you only use the VIAIR when your trailer is plugged in?
I've been surprised and a bit disappointed at how long it takes my 150psi pump to just top up 110psi tires by ten pounds or so. The pump runs for a fair while - minutes per tire - and would likely take quite a while if you had a flat. If your dealer has installed the cheapest-possible battery in your trailer - some do - then it may not be up to the workload of a roadside emergency.
The last bit of gratuitous advice is that I had my first 110psi VIAIR installed in my truck, with an air tank and air horn. (Then I bought another trailer with 110psi tires instead of 80psi tires and so had to buy a second VIAIR with higher performance that is stored in the trailer.) It was certainly more work/cost to install the pump in the truck but I've been glad to have it there at times when I was not near my trailer.Mark - 2018 Solitude 310GK - 2017 F-350 diesel SRW short box - Pullrite Superglide hitch

Thanks Mark. I have 3 group 30's & solar, so am hoping I won't have a problem with topping off my 80psi tires.
Appreciate your advice on keeping the truck running; if I have to reinflate a tire, will probably go direct to one of my pickup batteries.John, Susan & Luke

That's the same clever idea I had. I have a Viar compressor mounted in the front storage compartment of our trailer and hardwired to the batteries. Batteries run it just fine. I use 2 25' coiled air hoses connected together and can reach all tires on trailer and truck.
