Temps in the freezer and fridge
What kind of temps are you seeing in the Dometic 12 CF fridge/freezer? We have a new 303 and can’t seem to get the freezer below 10-11 degrees. On the highest setting (5), the fridge comes down to about 33-34 (nearly freezing anything inside), but the freezer never moves lower. It stays the same at a setting of 3, 4 or 5.
We have left it on for a full week, in our driveway, put only pre-chilled items in the fridge and pre-frozen things in the freezer. During the week in the driveway at home, we didn’t open the door to the freezer, and I have a wireless thermometer to monitor the temp. When in the driveway, the RV is parked with the fridge facing north, so it isn’t in the sun. We just can’t seem to get it below 10 degrees.Tom and Janice (known as Tom in PGH on the “other” forum)

I’d say there is something wrong there. I gave up on mine and swapped out to a residential, but my freezer always did okay. My problem was the fridge would spike up from 34 to the mid 40s during travel on hot days. You could maybe try it on propane just to rule something out and make sure your doors are sealed. We’ve got a pretty lengthy thread going about possible mods, but none of them really seem to make much difference.

We have the same 12 CF fridge. I don't have a thermometer for the freezer but anything frozen stayed frozen hard. Freezes water in ice cube trays pretty fast. The lower fridge part this past weekend with 100 degree days and the fridge set on 5, the highest it got was 40 during the day full sun on the slide with the fridge, at night 33 degrees. We have a separate thermometer inside the lower fridge that confirmed what the fridge displayed said.

The RV fridge, Always a crap shoot. It has to be one of the biggest complaints, Though a lot of people never have an issue. I ordered residential for this very reason. My Dad's brand new Jayco pinnacle was having issues and when talking with the manufacturer (cant remember now if its a norcold or dometic), their range of acceptable temps was crazy. He finally annoyed enough people that he got it replaced but he got lucky. Jury still out on the new one, only used it a couple of times but so far so good.
