Also get a pet temp monitor for the RV! It will alleviate stress when leaving them in the rig while you are out doing things. You’ll get an alert on your phone if rig is too hot or too cold and you can hotfoot back. Get one that does not need WiFi or an extra phone to work. Look on Amazon, not cheap but good peace of mind!

We travel with our two dogs and one indoor cat. The cat tends to get car sick in the pickup on the first day of travel, but seems to do better after he acclimates. He is very happy to stay in the house and in the trailer. With the bed to sleep on, his litterbox, water and cat food up on the bathroom vanity he seems very satisfied.
We have walked him a couple of times, but he seems happier in the trailer.2015 Chevy Silverado 1500 Z-71

Finnan just returned home from a 6-day trip to Winchester, VA yesterday. He "sang" to us once in a while as traffic was backed up on I-81 as he likes to be moving, but had a great trip. He loved watching us out the windows and sleeping on the foot of the bed. As at home, he is always at the closest window or door to where we are, but never tries to go outside.

Ah, a timely subject. We just started getting our 2 cats (1 and 2 yo) in and out of the harnesses. Our 3rd cat is 15, so when she passes we intend to travel for several months at a time with the 2 youngsters. We're in Phoenix so it's too dang hot now to drag them in & out for "training". For now, we put the harnesses on and let them run around the house with them for a bit. Some kind of "catio" (yes, that is a thing) may be in the future at campsites...we'll see how they adapt.

Our cat loves the trailer because there are so many new things to look at and smell.
We have a dome-thing that folds flat but opens up to provide about a 4' circular enclosure for the outside. Will Burt

We have taken 2 of our 3 cats with us on numerous trips. I recommend traveling with your pets vet records. Here are the products we have found indispensable on trips, excluding the usual cat stuff you need. Our Cats love to travel with us & especially love to lounge in front of the windows. We use harness's when they are outside along with a retractable leash. There is a good book called 'Adventure Cats' that gives great information on traveling with Cats. Its important when traveling with cats to set up a 'safe place' for them.
I know I included more info than you asked for - hoping it will also help others travel safely with their cats.

We take short trips with our cats, no more than 3 hours one way, because the cats Kismet and Rajah are not fond of traveling (it's too bumpy). Once they get into the TT, they relax and stare out the windows at "Cat TV". We take them out for walks on harness and leash, but they generally prefer to stay inside and "watch TV".

There's plenty of options for portable outdoor pet enclosures, and you could also consider a screen room that hangs from your awning and buttons to the side of your trailer. One of my parent's travel trailers came with one, and it was pretty cool. Took some practice to set it up in a timely manner but once its up it takes your outdoor space to a whole new level. Not something you'd want to do if you're only staying in one place for a day or two, but if you're hanging around for a while it might be worth it.
