    Battery Dead, connected to electrical

After 1 year, seems our battery died in 2018 Reflection 337RLS. The camper was connected to30 amp electrical because I had the frig running. When the battery died the frig doesn't work or anything else even though connected to electricity. Why is that? I would think even if the battery doesn't work the electricity side would keep things running.

    Welcome.

First, the fridge controls need 12vdc not 110v. Sure you can run the fridge on propane or 110vac but the controls still need 12vdc. Did you by chance have the battery disconnect shut off thinking you didn't need the battery so you were trying to save it? Others have made this mistake.

Resistance is Not Futile, It's Voltage Divided by Current.

Sounds like the WFCO might be defective?

DMB--the Dometic's definitely use 120V AC when on "electric". They use 12V for the control board (as previously mentioned) in both electric and gas mode.

Howard is right. The 120v ac powers a heating element right next to the gas burner tube for heating the gasses. A 3-way also has an element that uses the 12 volt dc for heating.

    Paul,
If the WFCO Converter is working you can have the battery completely removed and all of the 12V systems should still work if connected to shore power, right? I'm in the "Converter's not working" camp. To the OP--see this thread for relevant information: https://www.mygrandrv.com/forum/show...rging-question

You’re correct, it’s not a good idea long term, but I just did this a bit ago while changing out my batteries. I agree either the disconnect is off or the converter is bad (converter breaker could be tripped too).
