To jw2family: Do you tuck hose under or up the left side? Or does it not matter? Thanks, ordered parts today.

So I was putting my drain together, and found that my nylon 1/2" male-male nipple is cross threading with the flex hose. Anyone else have this issue or do I need to find another nylon nipple?

Looks like a good idea, but why? Maybe I’m missing something here. If you have your rig inside, I can understand an arrangement so you can catch the water without it splashing all over the floor. For those storing outside a little water on the ground is not a big deal. The heater unit is built so water will just run out of it and on my unit, it is located on the rear wall, water is a fact of life if towing in the rain, which is pretty much every trip here in the PNW rain forest. AL tank so I just pull the plastic drain plug and let it drain. What am I missing?

I have well water and softener, making sulfur smell a reality. So I plan to drain after each trip. Making a valve the easiest solution.

Main reason for this is because the location of the drain plug in relation to the propane line makes it a royal pain to reach the drain plug. This drain hose keeps me from cutting my knuckles on the sheet metal while trying to reach behind the propane line to turn the drain plug.
Also with the hose we don't have to worry about water finding an opening in the sealant around the drain and seeping back into trailer.
Finally if there's any sediment that collects in the water heater, we can drain the water without it rolling down the side of the trailer and leaving residue behind.Joe & Joy + children
