It really is a pain in the butt. There is a silver tube looking thing above the pilot gas nozzle. I believe it is called a thermocouple. It must heat up before the gas can flow. You need to insure the flame from your lighter is under the thermocouple. When it gets warm enough it opens the valve and the gas will light. This is a safety feature that shits off the propane to the oven if the flame goes out. Understanding how it works makes it easier to light.

Not trying to be snarky, but we couldn't light our Furrion over in our 303RLS either. We consulted the manual and bingo! Made brownies that evening. Try consulting the manual.
