    297 RSTS No Bumper

My 297 RSTS came with a 2" receiver hitch rated at 300# but no bumper. Looking for ideas on adding a bumper.

I would like to have my 2 bicycles and Honda mounted to the back of the RV but since I have no bumper only a 2" receiver not sure how I can accomplish this.

There are various carriers that mount to your receiver. Check out Harbor Freight for economical ideas or Google

Thanks, I looked at some of the carriers that mount to my 2" receiver but I already have a bike carrier and and a carrier for the generator, so was hoping to find a bumper solution and then just purchase the bolt on 2" receiver to use existing racks.

The 2" receiver can carry more weight than a standard rv bumper. Most bumpers are only rated for 100lbs

I understand why you want to do this, but I (strongly) advise you to look for another option. Either the generator or the bikes (on a RV-approved rack!) go on the back of the trailer--the other item goes in the truck bed. (Sorry!)

Another option is to add a front hitch to your truck. I realize you don't have a Ford but this may give you some ideas: https://www.mygrandrv.com/forum/show...essons-Learned

The things on the backs of trailers are often referred to as bumpers, but they aren’t. They are sewer hose carriers and not suitable for mounting anything.

Glad I asked the question. Have seen several RV running down the road with a generator mounted on the back of their RV and thought what a way to save space.

Will revert back to my original plan, bike on the Saris bike rack-2" receiver and generator in the back of the truck

Any reason to "not" just carry your bikes in the hallway between the kitchen and bedroom? I use the receiver to carry a hitch rack with a large Tractor Supply storage box full of stuff.

They’ll beat the heck out of the inside of the RV and each other unless you pad things really well. Take a lot of time getting them in and out.
