1200# or 1400# WDH?
So, the GVWR of the trailer is 8495. At max tongue weight (15%), that's 1275.
Since there is no 1300# WDH, do I get the Equal-i-zer rated for 1400, or get the 1200 and never mind the 75 pounds that may never be there.....Scott & Fonda

Definitely go to the heavier 1400 bars. You can always adjust some of the tension out if you need but if your bars are too light there is nothing you can do.

We did it... 2670MK and got the 1400# Equal-i-zer.
I did have the oddest sensation of a "push-pull" while towing, sort of a rocking back and forth, while on the interstate. Felt like the truck would surge a little forward, then pull back, over and over again. Any ideas what that's all about?Scott & Fonda

Without being there it is pretty hard to tell just what was causing the sensation.
It could be wind gusts, or slipstream from other traffic.
Perhaps uneven road surface and you were feeling the trailer going over the road surface.
The hitch might have not been adjusted properly and you were getting a little bit of porpoising which felt like a surge.
There are probably other things which might have caused this but these are the first that come to mind.2022 Reflection150 226RK

Sounds like a bit more tension on the bars is needed to increase front axle weight closer to unhitched weight.

So our second trip was this weekend, only about 30 miles away. Once again, had the push-pull/porpoising sensation. Went to the scales.
FrontAxle/RearAxle/TrailerAxles/Combined: 4460/5200/7440/17100.
FrontAxle/RearAxle/TrailerAxles/Combined: 4840/3700/---/8560.
Combined-truck = 8540 (trailer gross)
Trailer gross - trailer axles = 1100 (tongue wt) (12.94%)
So, I'm guessing I need to adjust my Equalizer.
And lose 45#.
Am I missing anything?

Measurements. I'm missing measurements.
Weights don't tell the whole story. Dammit. Friday... I'll hook up again Friday.Scott & Fonda

Looks like hitching up your trailer is lifting almost 400 lbs. off the truck's front axle. If you adjust your hitch setup to get more weight distributed back to the truck's front axle, then that might help with the porpoising that you're experiencing.
In other words, what @Bob/OlallaWA said.
Also, I trust weight tickets over fender measurements to tell the more accurate story about how the hitch is distributing weight.Joe & Joy + children
