No need to pay the dealer for 10 minutes of work if you are using RV antifreeze. Compressed air method is quick and easy too.
Thats the plan. I am assuming you have done this a few times already. Do you leave some anti freeze in the water heater? If thats the case, do I pump some antifreeze before bypass? Also how about the holding tanks? You add any in there?

Even in Texas, we winterize the trailer. Farmers almanac said 2018 winter was mild, but 2019 will much colder. Hard to think about winter when we are in the 100's.

The onboard electric pump does all the work. So easy to follow the GD instructions! Don't forget to bleed the exterior spray ports and you'll be fine. We completely drain the holding and fresh water tanks, you could add a little RV antifreeze to the holding tank. No antifreeze in the water heater or fresh water tank, turn the valves to bypass. We do leave the water heater plug out all winter. I think our 2600RB takes 2.5 gallons of RV antifreeze?

When it's finally Spring (and warm enough to go camping at Birch Run or Hass Lake), we de-winterize/flush the water lines at the same time using an empty inline water filter with proper amount of bleach in the housing and hook it up to the hose. Flushes the lines and sanitized the systems too! Rinse the system and enjoy another camping season.

We do not put antifreeze in the water heater (that’s what the bypass is for) or fresh tank. Just to emphasize what Jeff said, above, don’t forget the outside ports! They are especially susceptible to freezing. Also, do put about a cup in each P-trap (don’t forget the shower, if it doesn’t have a P, it has a valve). And make sure there’s some antifreeze keeping the toilet ball valve lubed so it doesn’t dry out.

Read the section on winterizing several times, making notes for yourself.

Last, when you rinse out in spring, make sure all the lines are thoroughly clear (even the outside spray ports) before you turn the valve to allow water into the water heater. If you choose to leave the plug out, you might want to put a piece of copper mesh in front of the opening (see threads on keeping mice out of your trailer).

Indeed. We were the “longest distance travelers,” at the 2019 Grand Design MI rally in Birch Run. Spent 6 weeks at Haas Lake near New Hudson, MI too. With Detroit in your handle, I figured you would be familiar with both. The world is smaller than we think.
