    Arrow Norcold Fridge

Hi we are new to having a large fridge in our fifth wheel. We are on our maiden voyage with it. I noticed that the fridge seems to be running all the time. Is it actually running or does a fan run when you open the doors. It’s an 18 cube electric/propane. It’s not freezing anything. Does anyone else have this happen omg? Thanks for the help fellow Solitude tribe.

Our Norcold seems to run all of the time. One thing that you want to check is that the center flap on the fridge is closing when you close the door. Just close the left door first and make sure the flap closes then close the right door. There are various ways to fix the flap problem but the manual method works every time.

My freezer works fine...fridge takes awhile to get cold even set at the 9 max level. Big problem is keeping the 2 youngest grandsons from constantly opening the door and not checking the center flap to make sure it closes flat. Seems to be common with the 18 cu ft Norcold's.

Add washers to all the doors especially if you can see the silver pins at all between the doors and the hinge. This will end the flapper sticking issue and will help with the doors sealing properly.

I should probably specify that you add the washers to the bottom of the doors to push them up into position.

Was in for warranty work. Looks like the thermastor (SP?) was set too high. Hope it's good now. Looked in the info we got when we got the rv didn't say anything. Kind of useless information in that book.

I'm not sure what model you have, but if it is the 2118, there are very specific instructions in the owner's manual on where the thermistor should be located. As you are looking into the refrigerator compartment, the clip that has the thermistor on it should be on the second fin from the right, and the top of the clip should be 1/2" (that's approx. 13mm for you Canadian guys), from the top of that fin.

We purchased the Solitude 390rk and have noticed the propane to the fridge is constantly running. We went through a bottle if propane much quicker than our old 5W. Does anyone know if this is normal?

Switch the unit to electric only source if your hooked to shore power.
Those with cooling issues because of a sticky flapper you can lube it with WD-40. If it’s “barking “ when pivoting it needs lube! If you have lots of condensation your leaking air somewhere. Make sure the fans on the back of the fridge (outside) are all coming on in warm weather.
